AIGFA Initiates Clean Water Mission from Salt Lake City Kolkata [VIDEO]

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata 7th July, 2017: the Kolkata chapter of All India Game Fishing Association (AIGFA) conducted the Clean Water Mission. It was the brainchild of late past President of AIGFA Mr. Ali Hussaini. The event was conducted at Bidhan Sishu Udyan of Salt Lake City Kolkata. The event was attended by members of AIGFA Kolkata chapter and members from Bangalore, Orissa, and Mumbai was present.
The chief guests of the event were Mr. Debasis Sen – chairman of HIDCO and additional chief secretary of West Bengal, Mr. Soumyajit Das – Managing Director, SFDC Ltd. & Ex-officio joint secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Department of Fisheries, Mr. B. K. Mondal – General Manager, State Fisheries Development Corporation, Government of West Bengal, Mr. Shivaji Ray – Ex joint MD, MN Dastur & Co. Mr. Debasish Sen applauded AIGFA for the steps taken in terms of bringing the stakeholders closer. Mr. Soumyajit Das, Managing Director of State Fisheries Development Corporation (SDFC) discussed the course of action with AIGFA members on how to bring the different ministries together to be a part of this action plan. Mr. Chandan Gupta of AIGFA mentioned that he will continue the communication with the ministry to take this forward as the fish represents the health of the water body. A symbolic release of carp fingerlings was released by Mr. Soumyajit Das, Mr. Debasish Sen, and Mr. Shivaji Ray, The volunteers and members cleaned the small lake of all the plastic and other non-bio-degradable material from the lake and its surrounding. From the sources of AIGFA, it is learned that the State Fisheries Development Corporation (SDFC) declared that they would be a partner with AIGFA for the clean water mission drive in the entire state of West Bengal.
